We’ve all once had a childhood dream that at some point we have forgotten because we were too busy growing up and getting pre-occupied with different responsibilities. But sometimes that lost dream would come knocking and we would find ourselves falling in love with it all over again. We just need that childlike wonder we once have to spark again.
January Roommate of the Month, Elika Manipon rediscovered her love for beauty and skincare like a twist of fate. From what was once a childhood playtime story to a pure love and interest for beauty and skincare, she now creates content on her social media pages for her and her followers. With a goal of becoming like the bloggers she looks up to, she balances her time between being a full time mom, a housewife, and an online content creator.
Let’s hear more from this fine lady and get to know about her #SampleRoomPH story as she answers a few questions from us!
ABOUT ELIKA
- Tell us about you and your love for beauty.
“I am Eli Eli, a full time House wife and Mommy to a 2 year old baby girl. I am an aspiring influencer / blogger (lifestyle, food, parenting, travel, and beauty skincare). My love for beauty started when I was a kid, as I remember that I always borrowed my mom’s lipstick and pretended that I was a model. As I got more focused in school, I somehow forgot about my love for beauty and skincare. Once I started working, I found myself growing to love beauty and skincare again.”
- When did you start and what inspired you to share your beauty finds on your social media accounts?
“I started to share and post my beauty finds on my social media since last year. It was when some of my close friends and colleagues always ask me what beauty or skincare product I am currently using. I am also amazed at how some friends of mine were able to share a very detailed benefit of the beauty products they are using. And this inspired be to share mine too and hopefully inspire others too.”
- Who are the bloggers that you look up to?
“I am really amazed at all beauty bloggers, but those who I truly look up to are Sofia Andres and Christiana Collings. I just love how they curate their feed, and my aspiring co-bloggers and I really check their Instagram a lot.”
ON HER BEAUTY ROUTINE
- Share with us your skincare routine!
“For my morning routine, I always drink 2-3 glasses of water after waking up before washing my face. Then I use some moisturizer and some facial mist which I first discovered in Sample Room. Then at night, I just cleanse my face and alternately use a face mask or eye mask before sleeping.”
- How about your makeup routine?
“Honestly, I don’t have a solid makeup routine since I am not that confident in doing my own makeup. But what I usually go to for my everyday look is a primer, face powder, and a matte lipstick or liptint. For some occasions I would apply a mascara and eyeliner as well. And as a final touch, I would use a facial mist just to set everything on my face.”

“My top 5 beauty products that I can’t live without are:
- Facial Wash
- Lipstick or liptint
- Baby Powder
- Facial Mist
- Sunblock or Moisturizing Lotion”

- When did you first find out about Sample Room?
“I first found out about Sample Room last year when I was looking for reviews of a product I was curious about. I stumbled upon Sample Room by chance, and loved it right away as I am really careful in using new products due to my sensitive skin so I really love reading reviews about a product.”
- How did Sample Room help you in your journey into the world of skincare and makeup?
“Sample Room for me is a very helpful platform especially when you want to discover new products but is not sure if it will work for you or not. And as someone with a sensitive skin, reading the reviews and having the chance to try a product before buying the full size really helps. Because of Sample Room I am no longer worried about trying certain products and spend so much money only for it not to work on me.”
- What were your best finds that you discovered through our site?
“I wasn’t really aware about facial mist until I discovered it here in Sample Room. The Beauty Bakery Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist really keeps my skin hydrated all day. Another product is the Cathy Doll Ready 2 White Whitener Body Lotion which reveals a ravishing skin and gives an incredibly soft, smooth, and moisturized feeling on my skin.”
- Do you see yourself still sampling in Sample Room in 3-5 years?
“It is definitely a YES for me!! Not just in 3-5 years but more since Sample Room offers a variety of products, not just for beauty but for babies as well which is great for mommies like me.”
- Any advice for your fellow roommates for their sampling journey?
“To my fellow roommate, always remember that HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY especially when giving reviews to a product. It’s not so much about how much points you earn for the reviews but how your experience and thoughts can help and inspire others.”
After rediscovering her childhood dream of becoming a model, Elika put in the effort to accomplish and become what she is today. From a pretend play during her younger years, she has evolved to become a passionate, dedicated, and genuine woman.
